On the day of Rakhi the ceremony is lead by the sister which will bind a Rakhi around the brother’s wrist, followed by prayers to the brother wishing a long and healthy life. In return, the brother promises to shield the sister from all harm. The sacred Rakhi symbolizes a bond of protection and Raksha Bandhan signifies that the brother must protect the sister from all that is evil.
